Rain that arrives on schedule and stops just as suddenly. Water falling into a crater you have to hike down into. Something moving in the canopy that you never quite see. Heliconia, impossibly red, growing like a weed.

The country has a phrase it uses for nearly everything — pura vida — and after a few days it stops sounding like a slogan. These pieces are drawn from that.
